BEST WORKOUT CLOTHES EVER?? // Girlfriend Collective // Brand Review // Yoshuna [CC]

Hi everyone! Welcome to my channel. If you’re new here, my name is Yoshuna, and
today we have a very exciting video. So I want to talk about a brand called “Girlfriend
Collective”. I have a couple of their pieces right here,
and so I’ll provide a view as well as an introduction to the brand if you don’t know too much about
it. I just want to say that this video is not
sponsored. Obviously this is a really small channel right
now, but I am just such a big fan of this brand. Girlfriend Collective believes that fashion
should be about quality, and not about trends. They focus on ethical manufacturing, sustainably
sourced materials, and, just, amazing designs. They’re also very size inclusive, so their
sizing ranges from xxs to xxxl. I am a little bit bloated after the holidays,
but these are still very flattering. I first heard about this brand about 2 years
ago. I read online that this brand was giving away
free leggings as their first launch. They were giving away black, highwaisted,
compression leggings for the price of shipping. And I think this way of marking worked because,
back then, I didn’t see too many brands doing the “free item, just pay for shipping” but
I see it all the time on Instagram now. All of there clothing is made in SA8000 certified
factories, which means that the people who sew the clothes are getting fair wages and
have a happy workplace environment. So I have five items from the brand. I have the Monroe bra, the highwaisted powder
blue leggings, the paloma bra, and the same leggings in pink. And then I have the first pair of leggings
they ever launched that were just the price of shipping. On top of the brand’s philosophy, the products
are amazing, and they also have amazing customer service. When I first ordered the black pair of leggings,
I was planning to ship it to a US address, but then I had to move it to a different address,
and so, I just sent them a quick e-mail (I meant to say Instagram DM) and they didn’t
charge me any extra for shipping it to Canada. They just redirected the package. They’re also very fast at replying. I only ever messaged them through Instagram
and they were able to find my order. Now shipping does take a while. It has to go through customs, and I live in
Canada, so it does take about 2-4 weeks I would say. The powder blue set is still in stock, but
the pink set was for October, it was for Breast Cancer Awareness and it was limited edition…
but you can also still get the black leggings. I wear a size small in all of these, and I
really want to get the toasted apricot set, but it’s always sold out in my size. This is a fairly new brand, but I really do
see them going to amazing places. They’re doing stuff that a lot of other brands
haven’t been doing. I’ve seen people compare these leggings to
Lululemon, but they’re actually more affordable than Lululemon. I don’t have a pair of Lululemons to compare
with, but I would prefer getting these anyway just because of their sustainable practices. As far as I know right now, they only sell
online at their website girlfriend.com, so your package would come in this type of envelope,
which is recyclable. And a pouch like this one. So whatever you purchase would be in this
and in the envelope. And this pouch is reusable. It’s quite a large size. The clothing comes new with tags, and the
tags tell you a little bit about the fabric, the factory, and how to care for the item. I will post clips of me trying on these items
at the end of the video. The first item I bought from GC were these
leggings, as I said before. And they are a bit more high rise than my
other high rise leggings, so maybe they changed it a little bit, but the side paneling is
still the same. It is so soft, it gets softer with every wash. And yeah I don’t know why I didn’t talk about
how soft these were before, but they are just the most amazing feel on your body. They could be pajamas, they could be workout
clothing, you could go out in them. You could wear them for days and be comfortable,
I’m just saying. Since they came in one length when they first
launched, these are a little bit longer on me because I get both of these in the cropped
fit. But it’s really not a significant problem. I’m 5’3″ so I get the shorter one so it fits
me perfectly at the ankles. This is the inside of the legging. Some of the lettering is coming off, but there
was a box around the size small. This was their original sizing. And there’s a little back pocket in here. It’s not too big. It can fit… um, it’s about the size of a
credit card I would say. It would be good if you were going to the
gym, and you just wanted to carry your gym pass with you, and you could just put it in
your back pocket. This would be the front, and the pocket is
right at your back. It doesn’t get in the way of exercise. Um, yeah, it’s really convenient. This is the Paloma bra. It looks like this. It has a very flattering fit. And here’s it says small and what’s in it. And if you lift the bra here, you can see
that there’s an elastic, but overall, the fabric is really stretchy. So the bra came with a tag, so I’m just gonna
read the information. It says: our bras are made from material that’s
79% recycled polyester, and 21% spandex, are supportive, 100% opaque, and so soft you’ll
forget you’re wearing it. And again, made in the SA8000 certified factory. These are the high rise 3/4 leggings in pink. Or, I think it was called dusty rose. This is what the front looks like…. I didn’t show the black ones as much because
you can’t see the seams as well clearly because of the dark colour, but I’ll show this one
a bit more clearly. This is the back. Makes your butt look good. And here’s the seam down the side. And the fabric for the leggings is knit with
79% recycled polyester, is made with 25 post-consumer water bottles per pair, and uses half the
electricity to produce the new polyester. They’re also sheerproof, which, they are for
the most part, but with the lighter colours that I have, I do notice that if I wear darker
underwear it shows through a little bit, like, a little bit tinted, but it’s not the end
of the world. And here is the Monroe bra in powder blue. It’s got the tag information in here, and
it’s got the same elastic band as the Paloma bra. This one actually has a zipper in the front,
so it’s easier to take on on off, you see it’s not easy for it to zip down on it’s own
because it’s got a little stopper here from the fabric, but all you have to do, if you’re
taking it off, is to pull the fabric back, and the full zipper is revealed. And you just…take off. Oh, did I mention that the pink one also had
this pocket? All of the leggings, as far as I know, have
this back pocket that can fit a card. Or two. And it’s the exact same design as the pink
one. This is the back, and then the seam on the
side. Now they did mention on the tag that the fabric
is dyed with eco-friendly dye, and it could result in irregular colours because it’s a
unique dyeing process, but these look exactly as they did online as in real life. I mean, in real life as they do online. I’m just starting out on my fitness journey,
so I’m really excited to use these more! I got the pink set, and there wasn’t a promo
code with that one because I just wanted to get it because it was limited edition and
I wanted to treat myself, but I got this one with a promo code. I don’t think it’s still valid, but the bra
came free if you bought leggings. I would say the best way to keep up with what
they’re doing is follow them on Instagram, but I know that if you buy two things that
you get free shipping, at least in Canada and the US. Don’t quote me on that. Anyway their Instagram is right here, and
if you want to follow my Instagram, it’s right here. They have many other colours. They have an ivory, a midnight blue, two orange
shades: apricot and toasted apricot, and a red ochre. Unfortunately they don’t have the pink set
anymore, but I did read in the comments of one of their Instagram photos that they might
be bringing it back for 2018. So we’ll see. And for the leggings, they do have a mid rise
as well, but I prefer the high rise, which is why I got these ones. And they have other designs for bras. I believe they have a smaller version of the
Paloma bra now, that’s just a little bit more cropped. And that bra is apparently, I’m looking at
their Instagram right now, is apparently made up of 11 recycled water bottles. Pretty cool. So enough of my rambling. Here is me trying on the products so you can
see for yourself how great they are. Thank you for watching this video. If you liked it, please subscribe and let
me know what types of videos you want me to post, and I’ll see you in the next one. Bye.
