Day 25: Massaging the Lymph System – The 40-Day Kundalini Yoga Weight Loss Challenge w/ Mairya


(light music) – Satnam, everybody. Welcome to our class today. We’ll be focusing today
on the lymphatic system and we’ll be giving it a very vigorous massage. And this is important because if you’re sitting all day long like me, or if you’re traveling
or sitting in a car, the lymphatic system
basically doesn’t work. We don’t have the heart to pump. We have a system that
requires you sweating a little for it to fire up and to
get all the remaining toxins out of your body. So we’ll walk out of this practice vibrant, energetic and shiny, but before that, we’re gonna
have to focus a little bit on all the knots in the
armpits and the groin. These essential body
parts that take care of all the kinetic toxins that we drag with us during the day. So with that in mind, let’s begin. Gonna rub our hands together, stimulating energy at the fingertips. And bring the palms together for a pose. Feeling the ribcage and the tummy pushing up. Feeling the body of one. Exhale. And we go to the om. (chanting) Inhale, hold the breath in. Send any tension or distractions. Healthy, vibrant body. Focusing. And exhale. Relax the hands onto your knees. Think of your moans. Now, if you’re wearing layers, now’s the time to get them off. Hands in front, close to the body. Pull up and back. 60 degrees. Inhale up, exhale back. Inhale up, exhale back. Off we go. Follow my rhythm quietly. (upbeat music) Feeling in charge. Give it your best. Let’s go. Take a breath. Catch one if you can’t. That’s perfectly fine. This exercise if going to
take you into an ecstasy. Now, before sweat a little gross, but that’s the point. Exercising the armpits and all the nods of the lymphatic system. A sedentary body area. Gonna do this for quite some time, so, mentally prepare for this. For those who challenge yourself, see how much you can do. Mind and body are gonna fight over this. Your body is stronger than
your mind is telling you. Just test it and see how deep you can go in this meditation. (relaxing music) Keep up. Imagine with every stroke, you’re getting closer and closer to your desires, to your goals, and at the same time,
leaving everything behind. All obstacles, all fear. All the anger melts off. You feel lighter. Right now, you’re starting to feel the body. You’re getting worked and it’s perfectly normal
if sweat breaks through. This is exactly what we’re targeting here. So really enjoy and thank your body for the beautiful system it is, for allowing you to reset, start anew, fresh. Can we go a bit more? Are we ready for this? Can we dominate our minds? Let’s go. Give it your best, challenge, willpower. Let the whole body adjust and reset. Stay with me. I know it’s hard, I know you’re about to be stopped, but this is where you
push through the pain. This is where benefits come. This final moment. Keep up. When you push through your
pain, you become lighter. You’ll start noticing
your arms and shoulders becoming light. Shoulders are where we store all the tension, all the stress, all the anger. Let’s get rid of all this. Push through. Smile, don’t forget. Let’s have fun with this. Inhale, face the palms out. 60 degrees, hold them. Exhale, relax the arms down. Now, bring up, really shake. Get all the tension
left from the exercise. There, relax. Well done. Catch your breath. Take a few deep breaths in. And again, V shape with arms, and we’re going to start a motion of crisscrossing the arms. And, here we go. Inhale, stretch the arms up. Hold the breath in. Feel the body pumping. Exhale, relax. Now, we’re gonna move on. We’re going to sit on our heels. So make sure you’re comfortable. If you’re not, you can always
put some padding under. Hands are gonna be straight and what we’re gonna do is we’re going to splash water all over us. It’s like you’re giving
a blessing to yourself. It’s a fantastic movement. It’s a moving meditation. We’re gonna do it to the beat. So let’s go. (upbeat music with vocals) Now, try to get the whole arm moving. Stretching all the way back. And inhale, stretch forward. Exhale, relax. Hands to your knees. We’re gonna come now, make sure that you have plenty of space. We’re going to do reverse plow. And of course, it’s not going to be easy. We’re going to do it with movement. So lay down, relax a second. Get prepared. Now, there are two options here. If you’re strong and if you’re
in control of your body, raise your legs all the way back and forth. If you feel like this is too much, you can put your hands
underneath your buttock. That’ll give you enough support for your lower back. And this will give you a nice jumpstart. And off we go. (upbeat music with vocal) Working abdomen. Working on the groin. Most of all, working on your willpower. Don’t give up. Keep going. And relax. We’re moving into body jump. For the arms, the hands are
gonna hold onto your neck. The whole body, except for your feet, your head and your hands, is going to be jumping up and down. Or something of the sort. Now, make sure the slap on the ground is on something comfortable. We don’t want any injuries, please. And just enjoy and have
fun like a little kid. It’s okay to let go. There is no form. All we need is the movement. (upbeat music) Inhale, relax. Let the body relax here. And for the next one, as we remain lying down, we’re going to raise our
hand and our feet out and we’re going to hold to our toes. If this is too much, you can only hold your
ankles or your shins. It is absolute fine. You can also roll a towel or some blanket, and you can hold it on both sides. But if you can stretch up and feel how the lower
back adjusts accordingly. Now we’re gonna open the mouth and we’re going to
breathe through the mouth, deep into the throat. Within this cleansing motion, throwing all the toxins out. Breathing through the throat cleanses not only the liver but all the way to the bloodstream. It’s really essential you take the breath with complete awareness and you go deep. Imagining with every breath out you take all the steered up negative tension out of yourself. And slowly come down. Just remain here. You can even spread your legs in a nice V shape and just allow your body to adjust. You have done tremendous job. And now gently, with care, bring
yourself up to sit. We’re gonna go onto our knees. Make sure the forehead touches the ground. This is a connection in the kinetic field. (light music with vocal) Rubbing our palms together. And inhale to your mouth. (chanting) Hope your enjoyed your practice. Hope you feel alive and energized, and remember if you practice
this series specifically, it’s not only to detox your body, but you’re definitely going
