Facial Yoga Exercises Nasolabial Folds : Smooth Out Smile : Laugh Lines – VitaLife Show Episode 285

Janine Bowring and today I’ll be sharing with you some yoga facial exercises for
nasolabial folds that’s what they’re called the smile lines and I think it’s
great if you’re smiling a lot, but you know as we age unfortunately what
happens is that gravity starts to pull down and these nasolabial folds can
become more pronounced making us look a little bit older. So if you’re at all
interested in lifting the face and doing it naturally then stay tuned for this
entire video. So the first thing that you know I usually recommend besides the
exercises that I’m gonna show you is to avoid smoking if you can because of
course when you’re smoking you’re drawing all of those muscles towards
your mouth and that can cause those nasolabial folds to get much worse. Avoid
your sun exposure as well so make sure you get some natural sunlight on your
skin and other parts of your body which is great for your vitamin D but in terms
of your face always make sure that it’s protected well with your SPF and wearing
a hat. The other thing is sleeping on your side so if you’re a side sleeper
you usually will notice that one side of those smile lines will be worse than the
other if you tend to sleep on one side more so than the others, so as much as
possible try to prop your head up I know it’s you know you have to get used to
that but try to prop your head up a little bit as you’re sleeping to
minimize those smile lines as well. So let’s talk about the facial exercises
one of my very favorite ones that is great toning of the entire face and to
strengthen the muscles because you want to be lifting and you want to maintain
that muscle structure in the face is to actually push down on those nasolabial
folds and smile, so and you should be able to feel those muscle contractions
as you’re doing it and I know a lot of our viewers you ask well how many
repetitions ideally should we do for this one I like about 20 repetitions so
you’re going to repeat that 20 times of contracting and relaxing as you’re
gently holding down those my own lines this will help to
strengthen those muscles in that area. The other one this is the final one called
the puffer fish basically what you’re going to do is puff up your cheeks and
then you can go from side to side which I’ll show you as well. So you’re going to
puff up don’t laugh at me and then you can puff from side to side,
I know it’s hilarious but what you should feel internally is you can feel
this tingling sensation and that’s because you’re stimulating that blood
flow your stimuli stimulating those muscles to be contracting. The other
thing that you can do is and this is a great one again for the entire face is
to gently hold back your skin and then you’re gonna blow so you want to hold
back your skin very gently and then blow. So again these are fantastic exercises I
hope that you love them in terms of the diet I’m always asked you know what are some of
the things that you do for your skin Doctor Bowring and one of the

plenty of nuts and seeds which is fantastic.
