Fitness is Fun: Pilates with Chris and Heidi Powell

>>Chris and I are here today to show you how
much fun fitness can be. What are we doing today, Chris?>>So we’re doing Pilates, and I must say,
in my years of, uh, all kinds of experiences in the fitness industry, never once have I
ever done Pilates. I’m almost embarrassed to say that.>>And neither have I. I think we get that
question more than anything else, people are always asking, “Is Pilates good for you? Is Pilates fun? What’s Pilates like?” Well, we’re about to find out.>>I must say, I was excited about Pilates
until I put these socks on.>>Okay, before we get started, what the heck
is up with those socks? Like, you’re, purple socks?>>They’re Pilates socks, their functional,
right? Plus, my feet need to breathe.>>Aren’t these cool? Because my feet need to breathe.>>Honestly, I felt it in my entire body. This is probably one of the best workouts
I’ve had in a long time, and I didn’t expect it. And here’s another thing, I totally expected
all core, like I’m feeling it in my shoulders, I’m feeling it in my glutes, which I love,
I’m feeling it in my hamstrings, quads too. But, like, the best part is, I’m feeling it
anywhere I want to feel it. Like, I realized, all you have to do is put
pressure in one area of your foot, or move your foot on that board, or move your arms
a different way, and you can literally work any muscle you want.>>Babe, where did you feel that?>>That was all core for me.>>Yeah, but what part of your core?>>All abs.>>I felt it upper. It’s probably wherever you’re the weakest
I would assume, right?>>Gosh.>>All I have to say is does my vein always
have to pop out of my forehead when I’m exerting myself?>>Yes
>>Is that like proof that this workout is hard when the vein like,
>>That means that it was a good workout. When the vein appears, it’s a very good workout.>>It’s either a good workout, or you’re in
big trouble.>>I was about to say that too.>>So I’m over here like working hard and seriously
trying not to pass out and all I can see out of the corner of my eyes are those purple
socks, like pointing every time they push off of the board.>>I said, just gotta’ point your toes.>>Babe, are you playing footsie with me right
now?>>I’m giving you some Pilates love.>>Oh my gosh.>>Alright, so if you are someone that wants
a challenge, you like to exert yourself, push yourself kinda’ hard, um, and, and really
you want to work your core and any other muscle in your body, Pilates is the way to go for
you. Chris, what do you rate it on a scale of 1-10?>>You know, I’m going to give it, as far as
my seal of approval, I’ll give it a 9 or a 10, which is great. Now is it something I’m gonna’ do all the
time? Right now I’m really focusing on performance,
body building, etc., so it doesn’t really fit in my wheelhouse, but nevertheless, I
think it’s a phenomenal work out for just about anybody out here. So I’m, I am officially a Pilates fan.>>Alright, so I’m gonna’ give it a 9 out of
10, which is actually very>>That’s a very strong rating
>>Very, very good.>>Yeah, that’s huge.>>I loved it, I enjoyed it, I think you would
