Gentle Yoga Poses : Yoga Left Hero Pose


Left side Hero, we’re going to sit up straight
and tall. You take your right foot underneath your left leg, and take the left foot on top
of the right leg. Now here, you want to take the ankle off the thigh and you want to sit
up straight and tall. You want to take a deep breath and you want to stretch, you want to
waken all the way from the fingers, the shoulders, and to your hips, connecting with the lower
back. And then exhale, come forward. As you come forward some people set their arms right
there to give your body weight down on your thigh. Other people touch the floor, but you
want to feel the outer thigh and the hip on the left side. Take a deep breath in and exhale,
feeling the shoulders release. At this point you can take the hands and slide them a little
bit farther, palms touching the floor, relaxing the shoulders. Breathe in deep through the
nose and exhale, feel the shoulders releasing right down. Another deep breath as you reach
a little bit deeper. Find yourself connecting from the hand, the shoulder, to the low back
in opening up that left hip. Now just breathe in deep through your nose, exhale and let
the shoulders sink right down. And then slide the hands right back towards you, release
the legs, and shake it right out.
