How to Do Kundalini Yoga Exercises : Butterfly Knee Kundalini Yoga Stretches

SCOTT SOLLER: Hi, my name is Scott Soller,
yoga instructor, here on behalf of Expert Village. Sitting tall on the inhale, you can
butterfly the knees a few times to open up the hips, remembering that we’re relaxing
down at the same time making room for the energy to flow up. So we’re working two directions
simultaneously. Knees up on inhale. You can draw the chin in or lower the chin down. On
the exhale, gently squeeze the knees. Repeat that as often as you need to. Inhale knees
up, float the breast bone up away from your navel, exhaling squeeze the knees, eventually
keeping the knees down. You’ll feel the toning in the pelvic floor. As you inhale, relax
the abdomen. On the exhale, gently pull up the pelvic floor, lower abdomen. On the inhale,
relax that. Lower abdomen, pelvic floor, exhale, pull up the pelvic floor and lower abdomen.
Inhale, relax top to bottom. On the next exhale, pull one, two and keep that gentle upliftment
in the pelvic floor. On the inhale, you’ll feel the scoop of the lower abdomen. Keep
the jaw and shoulders relaxed. Feel how the inhale is being supported from below as in
the half dog we just did. Eventually, you can forward fold, squeezing the heels together,
the knees down with that lower support, and feel the opening that you get, putting it
all together. When you’re ready to release, come up and relax and meditate and feel the
relief.
