Kundalini Yoga for Beginners : The Breath of Fire Pose in Kundalini Yoga & Meditation

So the type of breathing that we are going
to do is Kundalini yoga is called breath of fire. Let us just start with our hand on our
belly and you are going to inhale until your hand extend and I want your belly to move
out, as you exhale you are going pull your navel into towards your spine and again inhaling
through the nose and exhale, pull the navel in towards the spine press the air out. Do
that two more times inhale and exhale, pull the navel in press the air out and now we
are going to speed that up, inhale and exhale, inhale, exhale, inhale and exhale. So continue
as I talk I want you to make sure that on inhale your belly is coming out and as you
exhale the belly is coming in and if you feel comfortable go ahead and speed it up a little
bit more. Make sure you are not emphasizing the inhale more than the exhale or the exhale
more than the inhale. Keep continuing with the breath, if it is so difficult it will
be very easy when you go back and do it very slow again the hand is moving out on the inhale
and the belly is moving in towards the spine as you press there up in the nose on the exhale.
If this feels comfortable see if you can speed it up a little bit more. If you have any difficulty
getting this breath of fire nice and balanced I encourage you to seek our qualified Kundalini
yoga instructor in your area to make sure you are doing it correctly. Once you learn
to do the breath of fire you really begin to love it. Once you can get that smooth rhythm
going, it actually becomes a very soothing and a very calming type of breathing practice
to do.
