Making YouTube Videos | Why I Have A YouTube Channel | My YouTube Story | Yoga Talk With Christina

Hi, I’m Christina and welcome to my channel ChriskaYoga! Today I’m posting just a little bonus video because I thought that I should share my YouTube yoga story so in this video I’m going to be sharing with you how I came about creating YouTube videos for this yoga channel and Why I love it so much [before] [I] get started with my story if you aren’t yet subscribed to this channel hit that subscribe button down below So you don’t miss out on my two free yoga videos that I post every single week I would love to have you as a subscriber, and it is completely free to do so so my story begins as a blogger [I] Started out blogging. [I] was in graduate school for Dance over in London And I began my blog the dance [grab] calm. It’s still up somewhere on the [internet] I do not maintain it at all and eventually hopefully I will come back to it and Turn [it] into something else because I won’t be blogging over there anymore But started out blogging is doing some of my own fitness challenges some of my own health related challenges such as 30 days without sugar Sorry if the sun is or if you see the lighting change throughout the video I do have my own lights, but I also have a lot of natural light coming in here so it’s just the sun going in and out behind the clouds they have started my blog and I was just writing and Then I began to think oh, maybe I should create some [videos] so I started a corresponding blog channel where I was hosting some healthy [recipes] or Recipes that I believed to be healthy at the time, and I was sharing some inspiration motivational tips favorite morning routines things of that nature The vlog Channel still exists once again just as the blog does but I don’t ever post on it I even though I really really want to there’s just no time in the day [for] anything, so Then I started doing Blog and I thought to myself well I’m a yoga teacher because I had just become a yoga teacher at that time So I started the blog then I became a yoga teacher, and I was blogging a little bit But I wasn’t creating yoga tutorials or yoga class videos as I do now So I decided to start doing that so I started posting [yoga] for dancers because I am a dancer and I have a dance background So I wanted to create yoga specifically for dancers. So I made a couple of sequences about Hamstring flexibility hip flexibility. I think Vinyasa flow a short short classes they were all under 10 minutes or 10 minutes or less and You know it was fine But I figured it would [be] kind of strange to have Both types of videos on one channel and now I know that it’s not that strange because a lot of people do it they have Challenged or they have channels where they post fitness videos logs? Recipes like all of them in one and they make it work, and it’s great And I totally could [have] done that but I didn’t I decided to make this channel and this channel Christian Yoga was born from the idea that I wanted to keep those two completely separate blog and Yoga so I started [posting] yoga videos I started with a warm-up yoga video where I just did the sun salutations, and then it sort of evolved into longer classes and One post [tutorials] so how to do send up some our mountain pose how to do downward-facing dog? I have a whole variety of how to do single poses and how to do them properly with this correct alignment That I did on this channel Maybe almost three years ago now to two and a half years ago and then this channel started [to] pick up a lot more than the vlog channel did and then I just sort of Neglected the vlog [channel] and started to create more yoga videos because they were doing a lot better than the blog Eventually a lot of things happened in my life, and I just stopped making videos Altogether so it took me about a year to come back to creating videos regularly, and I started back in 2016 it was fall of 2016 where I started posting videos regularly again the reason why I? continue to make these yoga videos and why I love it so much is because I [oh] [they’re] there’s multiple reasons For one. I enjoy teaching I think I am a good teacher [even] though. There’s no students here right now in front of me I know Logically that you’re all there watching me through this camera And I am actually talking to people at first when you start, you’re just like this is so Ridiculous, there’s no one here, and I’m talking to myself But now I know that there are people there even if there aren’t millions and millions of people hopefully eventually Maybe there won’t be you’re there, and I know you’re there and I know once I put this video on the internet You’re going to hear me, so I’m talking to you also. I enjoy editing videos I kind of enjoy editing the vlog more than I enjoy editing Yoga classes because I find it a bit Kind of boring to edit a yoga class. You’re just like watching yourself Exercise if you’re not participating because you can’t participate while you’re on the computer editing it can be a bit boring but I still enjoy [it] [because] I still get to add my little bits of creativity here and there on the beginning and the end and try to make it as beautiful and visually appealing as possible and another huge benefit to creating new Yoga videos is the ability to reach So many people it is really cool to be able to and this is strange to wrap your head [around] The fact that there are people from over 150 countries Watching these videos and my [channel] is still relatively small at the time of filming this video and still as it grows More and more countries are being added to that list and more and more people are being added to that list and I just think it is the coolest thing Be able to share my yoga classes me little me to be able to share yoga with you all from all [over] the world [I] just [think] that’s pretty amazing so yeah, that’s my yoga on YouTube stories And maybe my story will hopefully inspire you if you’re hesitant about creating a YouTube channel [just] know that even when you’re small like me you don’t reach quite a few people and make a huge impact on other’s lives, and it’s a great way to do that to get your message across and To just share more about you because you’re great and you deserve to share Yourself just as a quick [announcement] before I end the video my classes are [available] now for download So it is completely [donation] [based] you can download them for [free] since I offer them for free on YouTube but any Contribution that you would like to provide Towards the videos [that] you download would be highly Greatly appreciated to support the work support the channel and will continue to allow me to create these Free yoga videos on YouTube the benefit of downloading the classes are that you can own them you? Can watch them on any device your phone your iPad? Your laptop wherever you would like to put your classes completing yours you don’t need an internet connection There are no ads that pop up here and there all of [my] classes. [I] have over 130 classes on this channel now They’re not all available But there are quite a few and I’m adding more and more Regularly so I’ll leave the link in the description box as well as in the cards So if you hit that I button up there it will pop up with a link that you can go and check out those Classes to download so thank you so much for watching I hope you enjoyed this little bonus video if you liked it please hit [that] like button down below It really supports my channel and be sure to come down below in the comments affection and say hi I always love to hear from you once again If you aren’t yet subscribed to this channel if that subscribe button down below as well [I] post two free yoga videos every single week, and I would love to have you as a subscriber There is a lot more yoga going on over on my website So be [sure] to visit chriskayoga.com, and if you haven’t yet seen me on Instagram [I] have really been focusing on my instagram feed lately So be sure to head on over to Instagram and follow me @chriskayoga over there as well.
