Nibs the Octopus | A Cosmic Kids Yoga Adventure! ๐Ÿ™

Hello everyone! Welcome to Cosmic Kids. I’m Jaime and this is your place for
yoga, stories, and fun. It’s easy. Just copy the moves I do
and enjoy the adventure. Now, we always start
in the same way and that’s by
sitting on our bottoms and crossing our legs and bringing our hands
together at our hearts and saying our
secret yoga codeword which is Namaste. Ready? After three. One Two Three Namaste There! Now we are ready to begin. So shall we find out who
our story about today. Let’s have a look through
those cosmonoculars. Bringing your thumbs
and fingers together have a look through. Ooh! Its lovely, isn’t it? It’s so colourful. I love looking through
the cosmonoculars. Ooh! Can you
see the picture? I think I can. Yes, it’s an octopus! It’s Nibs the Octopus. Now, what’s Nibs doing? She’s doing yoga. She’s doing dancer pose. This is wonderful. We’re off to a Greek island to
go and visit Nibs the octopus. Now, oh! we look outside the
window and we see that it’s raining. Pitter-patter! Pitter-patter!
Pitter-patter! all over our heads all over our chests
and our tummies our legs our arms. Oh! Dear. Let’s do a special
Sun wish and blow it away. Eyes closed,
hands together [Breathe In] big breath in open your hands and Foooooo! we blow that rain away and it’s time to get going. We get going to the docks
where we pick up our boat. Sitting on your bottoms lift up one foot lift up two lift up one hand lift up no hands and give me a wave Hi!! Now, there’s lots of jobs
to do on our boat. We have to climb
the rigging. Standing up we climb the rigging. Up we go! Up we go!
Up we up we go! Then we have to
scrub the decks. Coming onto all fours we scrub those decks and the other way Yes! Then we need to
heave ho the sails. Standing up we put one foot forward one foot backwards bend our knee reach for those
sails and… Heave-Ho! Heave-Ho!
Heave-Ho! Well done, everyone! Let’s have a look
through the telescope. Lying on our backs we lift one leg up to the sky and put the other leg
long on the ground. We can see lots
through our telescope Boop! Boop! Boop! Huh! Land ahoy! Quick, we’ve got to
drop the anchor. We stand up jump our feet
nice and wide and criss-cross our
fingers behind our back. We fold all the way forward dropping our anchor. Ooooh! Spladoosh! Well done, everyone! Coming all the way back up we jump now into
our rowing boat. Sitting on our bottoms take your legs out long. Now do you remember the
row row row your boat song? Come on, let’s sing it. Take hold of your
oar and let’s go. Row row row your boat
gently down the stream! Merrily merrily merrily merrily
life is but a dream! Oh! we rode around
in a circle. Let’s row with the other oar. Pick that one up now. Here we go. Row row row your boat
gently down the stream! Merrily merrily merrily merrily
life is but a dream! Look, we’ve arrived on
our Greek island. It’s very beautiful. We see palm trees
swaying in the wind. Bringing one foot
on top of the other your hands together
at your heart grow your tree up tall and open your palm
tree branches. Oh! these palm trees
are so pretty and gentle. Let’s try the other side. Bringing your other
foot on top now your hands together
at your heart grow your tree up tall open those branches and hah! swaying like a
pretty palm tree. We stand with our
feet in the sand and close our eyes enjoying the wash
of the waves rolling over our feet. It feels like heaven so warm and soft. We head over to the rocks. Coming down onto your knees tuck yourself up into
a tiny little rock shape nestled amongst the
rocks is a mermaid sitting all the way up she swishes her
tail to one side puts her hand
on her fishy knee and puts her other
hand behind her looking over her shoulder she looks back at us
and she says Ooh! La-La! Then she swishes her
tail on the other way Whoop! she puts her other hand
on her fishy knee takes her other
hand behind her looks up over
her shoulder looks back at us
and she says it again Ooh! La-La! she looks a little bit worried. The mermaid tells us that tonight
is the Sea Factor competition. All the sea creatures have to
go up in front of the judges the mighty lion fish
and the great white shark to do some singing
or some dancing and Nibs the Octopus is the
only one who isn’t ready but she’s the best dancer. Noooo! Now we’re going to
try and help Nibs feel a little bit more
confident to have a go. Let’s go find her. We stand up and we reach
our arms up high. We dive down off of the
rocks into the ocean Spoooooodush! Coming down onto our tummies we swim down
through the ocean following the mermaid. Ready? We do the Crawl! Crawl!
Crawl! Crawl! the doggie Paddle! Paddle!
Paddle! Paddle! we do the breast stroke!
the breast stroke! and the butterfly hoo!
butterfly hoo! Yey! that was fun. On the seabed we find
lots of sea creatures preparing for the
Sea Factor competition. There are the crabs and they’re practicing
the can-can. Sitting on your bottoms bend your knees feet flat hands flat behind you lift up your bottoms and let’s go this way
doing the can-can. Doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo!
Doo-doo-doo-doo-doo-doo Wow! they’re quite
good at the can-can and we quite enjoyed
joining in with them as well but we must go find Nibs. We’re taking down
a long dark tunnel. Hands down tuck your toes lift your bottom
up to the sky. Through the tunnel we find
Norris the Baby Seahorse. Coming onto your knees step one foot forward lift your arms up Neeeeigh! Oh! Dear Nibs has put piles and piles of
rocks in front of her hidey hole. We can’t get in. Oh! Norris is right. Nibs has indeed blocked
up her hidey hole with piles and piles of rocks. Let’s try and push
them out of the way. We stand up take our leg back our arms forward pressing into the rock
with a big puuuuush but it’s no good. So we try using our feet. Coming down hands down press that rock
with your foot Aaah! It’s still no good. Huh! But then we spot
a tiny little hole that we can wiggle
through on our tummies. Coming down onto your belly take your hands
underneath your shoulders and wiggle. Wiggle! Wiggle! Wiggle!
Wiggle! Wiggle! Wiggle! and we’re in and we see Nibs tucked up
into a tiny little corner. Sitting on your bottoms let your octopus tentacles
wave and waggle around. Poor Nibs she’s got two of her
tentacles stuffed into her ears and she’s going La-La-La-La-La-Laaaaaa! Oh! Dear she’s so very nervous about taking
part in tonight’s competition. Nibs, we know it takes
masses of courage to stand up and do
things in front of others but give it a go you’ve got nothing to lose and we are here,
your friends to support and encourage you. Nibs takes a
big deep breath. [Breathe In] [Breathe Out] With our support
and encouragement she feels happy
to have a go. Well done, Nibs. Come on, let’s go. Time is ticking. It’s nearly time for
the competition. As we swim out we go past a
group of oysters. Joining the soles of
your feet together take your hands to your toes and close your oyster
shell all the way down. As we pass the oysters they lift up their shells Whoooop! and they each present
a lucky pearl to Nibs as good fortune for
the competition. As we get to the
competition arena we look around at the competition. Who else is taking part? We see them. There’s the starfish
who sings Soprano. Standing up legs wide arms wide she looks like she’s quite
good at singing Soprano but we shall wait
and see Hmm! There’s also the
tangoing lobsters. Draw your heels in bend your knees and rub up your claws. Aaaah! The lobsters are going
to be doing the tango. Uahn! Uahn!
Uahn! Uahn! Wow! They’re looking
ready as well. Last is the blue whale
who’s got a new dance. Lying on your back bend your knees arms down by your side She calls it the
Bubble! Bubble! Bubble! Pop Dance. Wow! It’s quite a lineup. But Nibs is as good
as any of them. So we can’t wait to
see them have a go In come the judges,
the mighty lion fish. Coming up onto
your knees after three big roar Ready? One Two Three Whaaaaaaa! and behind the lionfish
is that great white shark. Lying on your bellies criss-cross your fingers
behind your back lift up your shark fin Doodooo! Doodooo!
Doodooo! Doodooo! Wow! These look like
pretty stern judges but I think the
contestants are ready. Time for the first act. It’s the starfish
singing Soprano. Standing up legs wide arms wide She prepares herself [Breathe In] and she begins Ooohh! Waaaaoh!
Ooohh! Waaaaoh! Wow! well, what an act we think. This is quite exciting. The scores are in. Come down to your knees let’s hold up the
number of fingers out of ten that we want
to give it as a score. So, I think I might
give this one a six. You hold up
your fingers I’ll hold up mine Ready? One Two Three Six! It’s a fair score for the
soprano singing star fish. Next up it’s the
tangoing lobsters. I can’t wait to see this. Standing up legs wide bend your knees take your arms up high and let’s see them tango Ready? Eh! Eh! Eh! Eh! Eh! Eh! Eh! Eh!
Eh! Eh! Eh! Eh! Eh! Eh! Eh! Eh! But halfway through their act they get a bit tango’ed out and they fall onto their backs and they hold with
their claws their feet Aaaarrgh! Oh! Dear they had a bit of a fall. Time for the scores. Ummm! Let’s hold up
our fingers again. I think I’m going to
give this one a four. Ready? You hold up yours,
I’ll hold up mine. One Two Three Four!! Well done, everyone! Next up was that blue whale with her strange
Bubble! Bubble! Pop Dance. She comes and gets into position. Lying on your back bend your knees and let your arms come
along down by your side where your palms press flat. She got into position and then she began Bubble! Bubble! Bubble!
Bubble! Pop! and down Bubble! Bubble! Bubble!
Bubble! Pop! and down Bubble! Bubble! Bubble!
Bubble! Pop! and down Bubble! Bubble! Bubble!
Bubble! Pop! and down Well, it’s quite an
exciting little dance. What scores shall we give
this one out of ten? Hmm! I think I might
give it a seven. You hold up yours,
I’ll hold up mine. Ready? One Two Three Seven! Well done, everyone! Now, it was Nibs’ turn. Nibs was so nervous that she
got her tentacles into a tangle. Standing up crossing over one leg Hoooh! bending down arms wide swizzle those arms and then swizzle them Oh! Dear,
what a tangly mess. We help her untie
her tangled tentacles Woooooop! and she takes her position
on the dance floor. [Breathe In] She gets ready to begin and the crowd falls silent and so she begins. She starts to move her
tentacles beautifully and freely all around the space with such poise and elegance
and whirling around. She’s the most magnificent
octopus we’ve ever seen. We love Nibs. She finishes with a
great big courtesy Tada! and the other way Tada! And the scores are in. Coming down to our knees what are we going to give Nibs? I think I know what
I want to give Nibs. I am going to
give her a 10. Ready? One Two Three Ten! Yes, the whole
crowd lights up. Everyone gives her a 10. Nibs has done it. She’s come alive
and found her soul and her confidence
from having a go. We are so delighted and we give her
a great big hug we leave the sea creatures
to enjoy their amazing party after the Sea Factor competition and it’s time for us
to get back home. So, we lie down on our backs and we use our
legs like a bicycle to drive ourselves back
up to the ocean waves. When we get up to
the top of the water we head back to
our desert island our Greek island where we lay our
legs out long our arms down long and for just a few moments we enjoy the sunshine drying us off we catch our breath
after all that excitement. Hah! Nibs was so courageous to get up and have a go to be brave and confident and even though those
butterflies might be in our tummy we’re feeling nervous it’s good just to
get on and do it. Find a way feel alive and give it
everything you’ve got. We lie still and enjoy this calm it’s such a good feeling
after all of that fun but now it’s time to
wake back up again. So we wiggle our
fingers and our toes we give our knees a cuddle and we roll over
onto our sides and we come up to sit with our legs crossed and our hands
together at our hearts finishing just the
way we started with a Namaste Ready? After three One Two Three Namaste Well done, everyone! That was great. Thanks for coming along
and cheering on lovely Nibs. You really helped her
with her confidence. I hope it helped you too. Come back soon for another
Cosmic Kids adventure. Bye-bye!
