Non-Traditional Pilates Exercises : Non-Traditional Pilates: Drinking Bird

Alright now I’m going to show you the drinking
bird. If you would use the visual of the little red drinking bird that you get at the novelty
stores that’s red, little liquid on the bottom and it bobs down and comes back up, that’s
the action that your body is going to do. You are going to be using your core to balance
and then regain very quickly into another balancing position. From the front, staying
engaged, you will be casting a leg out and balancing with the arms out. Again there’s
kind of a drinking bird. And then I’m going to come back up and try not to move. I’ll
take it back down in between each one, arms go wide, leg back, take your time going into
this position. It’s a little bit like a warrior three. And on the uplift make it a brisk movement,
one foot comes behind the other. As you come out of that position and lift up, you are
using your core to get you into that position. So take it all the way out, and bring it up
try not to move. That is drinking bird.
