The 10 Minute Workout MORE Effective than an Hour at the Gym

You’re watching Fox 45 Morning News! All local, all morning. Working out does not have to be a long drawn-out chore, coming up how a 10 minutes in-home workout and even better than an hour at the gym you’re watching Fox 45 Morning News weekend well if you’re tired of going to the gym or you don’t have time for a long workout CEO and Director of Fit2Go Personal Training Dani Singer is joining us to explain why a ten-minute in home workout is better than an hour at the gym and this is one of the things that sounds like it’s too good to be true I know it sounds a click-baity title but what I’ve found with hundreds of Baltimore busy professionals that we’ve worked with is that usually they think that the biggest challenge they face with Fitness is self-discipline right like I can’t get myself to do and go to gym in the morning in reality the problem is time okay right so getting 10 minutes in the morning can be so much more effective if you’re actually DOING it, versus having this ideal world we’re going in spending an hour at the gym and driving a half hour out, getting a babysitter for the kids or whatever it is in the morning Is it 10 minutes in the morning? Does it matter what time of day are doing it? Or just in the morning is best? I always recommend doing in the morning if you can because number one, you get it done so you know you’re getting it in like if it’s later it’s so much easier for other stuff to come in and then get in the way and then the workout doesn’t happen Also, if you start your day with the workout that makes everything else so much more effective throughout the day like it will make you want to eat healthier because you started off on the right beat Sure! Okay, so what are we including in these 10 minutes? So here’s the way I want to think about it right so instead of thinking about a guy who has like a rough morning and he’s like no energy all the time you want to kind of copy Paul Who’s Paul? Glad you asked, Paul is the super successful CEO who also somehow has the time to stay super fit and healthy right y’all know Paul there’s a Paul at every office We hate Paul, be you can BE Paul and Paul actually has a simple formula he shared with me the other day okay it’s simple for his 10 minute work out in the morning, so he’s a little conceited and he uses his own name though name it’s P for plyometrics right so we had a cardio like jumping jacks A for abs like a plank or sit up or something like that U is for upper body they might be doing a push-up L is for lower body so i’ll be doing a squat so if you did those four types of exercises you hit everything right cardio abs upper body lower body and you do that rapidly you’ll get your heart rate up you’re going to hit every muscle in your body and if you do that consecutively for 10 minutes you’re going to get such an effective workout in minimal amount of time Okay so you would start with the P and then do that for about a minute or are you doing 30 second intervals what are we doing here? so that’s the thing, you have to work your way up so i’ll start with exactly that if you’re 30 second intervals they may take like a 30 second break and then run through it again and then you want to sort of work your way up and maximize the efficiency of the 10 minutes Is this kind of like the H.I.I.T. thing that we hear about? The intervals? It’s the P.A.U.L. Method, but same idea do something for us I’ll bring my workout shoes but I’d be happy to watch you okay so start with P right in Plymoetric, we might do a jumping jack right so just real simple if you just start out anything for slowly it’s not that to be super intense know what’s your own pace if you just draw up doing some jumping jacks right so you go for 30 seconds fun you can move on you go to a you’re gonna plank so you can be doing moreover you’re doing a plank okay right or if you can be going into upper body then you can be doing some push-ups and then you want to lower body goes straight in there you doing squats right okay the planks gettin your abs and your arms to kind of everything yes so we just got cardio we got upper-body we got abs with a lower-body it did Paul out of order but that’s it! People have this idea that you need to go to a gym with fancy equipment to get an effective workout but all you need is Paul. And the key is probably during those ten minutes you can’t be taking a break you can’t cheat you got to go the whole 10 right? Well I mean like I said like you can run through one set and you can do all four of those take a 30 second break and jump back in and you want to sort of work your way up it’s but that’s the idea of getting the biggest bang for your buck so when you’re at the gym like you’re saying you might do my set chill on your phone for ten minutes in between set something else is hey you tonight like oh wow forgot about the gym you’re doing the Paul method if you’re at home and just doing a 10-minute workout in the morning you’re maximizing your efficiency and getting as much as you can out of it Alright thanks Dani! Fit2Go, we appreciate you being here! showing us that work out
