what we’re gonna do is we’re just turn on our mats and we’re gonna curl our feet under ourselves and we’re going to start out at seeds because that’s how plants start out right so you’re going to take your hands right next to your feet and rest your forehead on the floor and you’re just going to wrap your arms around your body and just rest your head down just stay nice and rested we’re just going to be in a pose for a little while here and I want you to remember seed pose as opposed you can always come back to during this yoga class at any time if any pose is feeling uncomfortable or if you are getting tired seed pose as opposed you can come back to at any time to rest and recover you can just take a break here so we’re going to imagine that your seed is getting rained on a nice warm rain is rinsing over your the soil and rinsing over your body and it’s nice calming rain you’re laughing beautiful seeds and now the Sun comes out and once that Sun starts to warm up the soil and dry up all that water our seeds are going to start to grow into plants so we’re slowly going to rise our head up off the ground we’re going to call them up to the seated position do you all know what plants you are have you decided what plant you want to be let’s grow a little bit more we’ve had a little bit more rain and a little bit more Sun we’re growing nice and tall does anybody want to share what plant they are Nathan Ivy you’re ivy oh okay cool I like what are you Paige you’re a rose how about you be wants a raspberry plant oh I’m excited I’m gonna come snack on some raspberries what are you an apple tree lovely Marissa are you having an idea what you are I’m the Daisy Daisy I love daisies Oh tree just whatever tree or feeling well what happened who knows how long yoga has been around does anybody know how long yoga has been around when was it invented you have an idea Nathan longer than a thousand years that is a very good guess yes anybody else have an idea longer than a thousand years Paige or let’s see let’s see it’s Bjorn a million years somewhere between thousand and a million paid you have an idea yeah five thousand years that’s a long time people have been doing yoga that long time and the Yogi’s boys would do yoga called Yogi’s and girls who do yoga are yoginis so after today you are all Yogi’s and yoginis right they the Yogi’s and yoginis who invented yoga 5,000 years ago decided that they were so grateful to the Sun for all the life-giving forces it gives you can’t live without the Sun right warms us it helps plants grow so they created a dance called the Sun dance or the Sun Salutation we’re going to do that today are you guys ready so you stay at the top of your mat I’m going to come to the top of mine and we’re going to take a nice let’s bring our hands to our heart center let’s let’s think about what plant we want to be in our Sun Salutation drinking up all that wonderful Sun and water take a deep breath in and as you exhale release your hands are your branches or whatever you are and reach up take a deep breath in and folding forward over you can even tickle your roots or your toes or whatever they are and plant your hands flat down on the ground unique if you need to bend your knees do that and first we’re just going to be little caterpillars walking our feet back we’re going to come to a plank position just hold that for a second take a deep breath in and as you exhale we’re gonna crocodile our arms and come all the way down good and just rest down on the floor for a second now the first time we come up we’re just going to come up into a cobra pose where hissing Cobras good yes and now from here we’re going to push our hands down on the floor tuck your toes lift your seat up to the sky and we’re going to be doggies and in doggies we can walk our dogs right so you can bend your right knee a little bit and when you bend your right knee you can straighten and push your left heel into the floor and bend your left and bend the right knee good and we’re just going to take our doggies on little walks I love your doggy poses nice doggies good alright so when you’re done with that I want you to push those heels down into the floor a little bit more you want to rest lengthen your back good and now we’re gonna caterpillar our feet back up to our hands again little tippy toe caterpillars good and we’re gonna just take our feet here together reverse those Swan dives back up to the sky thank you son and bring our hands down through our heart center
